SSD / Brachytherapy Chambers
(Co-60 based) with Electrometer
What it does:
Well-type ionization chambers designed to hold radioactive sources directly inside them. Used to measure the source strength (Air Kerma Strength) of High Dose Rate (HDR) or Low Dose Rate (LDR) brachytherapy sources (typically Ir-192 or Co-60).
Need:
Ensures the radioactive source inside the treatment machine matches the vendor's certificate and the treatment planning system data. Essential for precise localized cancer treatment.
Radimage’s Calibration Role:
- Regulatory: Mandatory verification of source strength before clinical use.
- Process: Radimage calibrates these well chambers using a reference source or by cross-calibration against a calibrated standard chamber. The Calibration traceability path or the capability to measure Co-60 HDR sources, ensuring the Source Strength Calibration Factor is accurate.
- Traceable to the Highest Global Standard: Our Reference Instruments are Calibrated at PTB, Germany
